Terms of service

These terms cover onecoalescent.app, earth1.co and e1-4.com. Each is run by One Coalescent, an independent project ("we", "us").

Acceptance

By using any of these sites you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use them. When we update the terms the version above changes, and continued use means you accept the new version.

Reading and research

onecoalescent.app and earth1.co are free to read. Each paper on onecoalescent.app/research states its own licence, and you may reuse it on those terms. Our names, logos and site design are not covered by those licences.

Accounts on earth1.co

An earth1.co account is optional. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter from any e-mail, and ask us to delete your account at any time.

e1-4 and the earth life-hive

The service

e1-4 is a textless voice stream: you speak, and your voice becomes the content. The earth life-hive, inside e1-4, is its one textful part. Features marked early or experimental may change or disappear without notice.

Voice sign-in and biometric data

Signing in with your voice creates a sealed voiceprint, which is biometric data. We collect it only with your explicit consent, voice saving stays off until you give it, and we handle it as set out in the privacy policy. You may withdraw consent at any time from your profile. You must not sign in with anyone else's voice, or with recorded, synthesised or cloned speech.

Training Da Vinci

Using your conversations to train Da Vinci is a separate opt-in, off by default. You can withdraw it at any time from your profile; the privacy policy sets out what that covers.

Your content

You own what you create: voice entries and their transcripts, boards, Talk voice notes, hive bio and posts, and the share links you make. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, transcribe and play back that content solely to run e1-4 for you, including showing it to the people you share it with and making hive posts public on your profile link. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already lawfully shared through links you created before revoking them.

Termination and account deletion

You can stop using e1-4 at any time and delete your account from your profile, immediately or after a 30-day cool-off that you can cancel. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or where the law requires it. e1-4 is not for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU).

Acceptable use on every site

• No unlawful, harassing, hateful or sexually exploitative content.
• No impersonation, voice spoofing, or recording others without consent.
• No attempts to break, probe, overload or get around our security.
• No scraping, bulk downloading or automated access you were not given.
• No spam, malware, or infringing anyone else's rights.

Disclaimers and liability

The sites are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Transcripts, translations and Da Vinci replies are machine-generated and may be wrong. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, plus £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
