Our own operating system and intelligence

In development

The One Coalescent OS and SSI/ARI

We are writing our own operating system from scratch, and building our own intelligence, SSI/ARI, on top of Da Vinci. Both are early. Each stage counts as done only when a test proves it, and every result is published openly.

The kernel today

What our kernel prints when it boots in the emulator.

The operating system

Linux is the inspiration, not the source: no Linux code is copied. Our server keeps running a standard system until ours can carry real work.

  • Boot and console

    Research

The kernel starts, writes to the screen and the serial port, and stops. It runs in an emulator and is tested on every change.

  • Interrupts and memory

    Research

Handling faults and timers, then managing memory: the base every program needs.

  • Our server's own chip

    Research

Our server uses an ARM processor, so the kernel will move to ARM.

  • Programs, drivers and networking

    Research

Running several programs at once, reading disks, and talking to the network.

  • Da Vinci on our own OS

    Research

First a very small model, then the models Da Vinci uses today, running on a system we wrote ourselves.

SSI/ARI

Super Stochastic Intelligence and Artificial Random Intelligence: reasoning that keeps every belief as a probability, tests its own claims and shows its steps. It runs on Da Vinci, on our own server, with open models only. Superintelligence is a research goal that nobody has reached; these stages measure steps toward it.

  • Foundation

    In development

An open language model with causal reasoning and a guardrail against claiming understanding it does not have. Its first public score is the next step.

  • Memory and patterns

    Research

Remembering conversations, only for people who choose to turn it on.

  • Cause and effect

    Research

Learning what causes what, and predicting what happens if you change something.

  • Learning from its own tests

    Research

Proposing improvements to itself that are kept only if the scores go up, and only after a person approves.
